The scientific journal “Geology and geochemistry of Combustible Minerals” is the successor of the republican interdepartmental collection, which was published since 1965. In 1992, the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine initisted to pablish the scientific journal “Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals”.
The founders of the journal are the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals, the Ukrainian Oil and Gas Academy.
The journal is published four times a year; circulation – 250 copies.
Certificate of state registration of a mass medium – series KB No. 1967 of April 23, 1996.
Index in the catalogue of periodicals of Ukraine 74120.

The journal publishes general theoretical and methodological articles on all issues of geology and geochemistry of combustible minerals. In particular, the following topics are covered: regional geology, stratigraphy, paleogeography and tectonics of areas of distribution of combustible minerals, the conditions for the formation of patterns of location of their deposits; problems of sedimentology and lithology of the provinces of combustible minerals; genesis of combustible minerals – oil, gas, coal, shale, etc .; structural features of the earth’s crust within the oil and gas provinces; reservoir properties of productive horizons of oil and gas fields; methods of prospecting, exploration and assessment of forecast reserves of combustible mineral deposits; geochemistry of deep solutions associated with the processes occurring in the upper mantle and the earth’s crust; chemical and isotopic composition of combustible minerals; modelling of processes of formation and metamorphism of combustible minerals; oil and gas migration; problems of geotechnology of combustible minerals; chemical and isotopic composition of combustible minerals; geochemistry of rare and scattered elements in rocks of oil and gas and coal areas; hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry and protection of the hydrosphere.
Leading scientists and specialists in the field of studying the geology and geochemistry of combustible minerals are involved in the editorial board of the journal.
